FRIDAY 28TH – MONDAY 31ST AUGUST 2026
IN THE ORANGERY AT THE NATIONAL TRUST’S SALTRAM HOUSE, NEAR PLYMOUTH, DEVON
Simon will be taking Space Odyssey’s Pioneer dome to the Orangery at the National Trust’s historic Saltram House, near Plymouth, for four days over the August Bank Holiday weekend, from Friday 28th – Monday 31st August 2026.
Each 20-minute show will explore key moments in the history of space exploration, a quick round-up of the latest news from space, a whistle-stop tour of the solar system and our place in the wider universe, before ending up with a tour of the August night skies. Suitable for all ages from 4+. Please note that the Orangery building is unfortunately not wheelchair-accessible and the floor of the building is uneven, making it potentially difficult for those with limited mobility.
These exciting dome sessions will be FREE on a first-come, first-served basis, with sessions being available throughout the day, starting at 10:30am and the last starting around 4:15pm. Normal National Trust entry applies.

exmoor dark skies festival 2026
Space Odyssey domes will be featuring in this year’s Exmoor Dark Skies festival once again, including public planetarium sessions in Minehead Middle School on Monday 19th October and at Lee Abbey, near Lynton, on Saturday 31st October 2026.
