SPACE ODYSSEY IS DELIGHTED TO OFFER A RANGE OF PLANETARIUM PRESENTATIONS ESPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR VOLUNTEER GROUPS SUCH AS SCOUTS, GUIDES, CUBS AND BROWNIES.
These dome experiences differ from Simon’s school presentations in that they not only link directly with appropriate Award Badge criteria (if applicable) but also allow much more time to explore the night skies as seen from around the world.
The cost of these amazing dome experiences is just £6 per adult and £4 for under-16’s, with a minimum fee which will depend on the distance to be travelled from Simon’s home in Devon. The minimum fee will be in the range £250-£300 for bookings in the South West with an additional modest supplement further afield.
It is best to arrange at least two sessions to ensure the minimum fee is covered. You may need to add an extra 50p or £1 to cover any hall hire (e.g. charging £7 per adult and £5 per child, from which you deduct £1 a head for the hall hire and Simon receives £6/£4 accordingly).
In the past, youth group leaders arranging a Space Odyssey evening have very successfully organised several sessions, e.g. the first one for Beavers / Rainbows, the next for Cubs / Brownies and then one or more Scouts / Guides presentations after that.
